Queensland Police Service investigating experiences officers introduced alcohol into restricted neighborhood

An inside investigation has been launched after cartons of beer had been present in a police car within the distant north-west Queensland neighborhood of Doomadgee on Monday.

The city has been below alcohol restrictions for greater than a decade.

Native resident Christopher Toby mentioned he was in bushland searching for native fruits when he noticed a bunch of individuals unloading a number of cartons of alcohol from a automobile.

Mr Toby mentioned on nearer inspection he recognized the group as cops who weren’t in uniform.

He mentioned a police patrol car was then used to move beer into Doomadgee.

Present restrictions restrict alcohol to two cartons of 30 cans of mid-strength beer per particular person with no choice to buy alcohol contained in the neighborhood.

Police confirmed an inside investigation had been launched.

“This investigation will look at any illegal conduct by cops together with inappropriate use of police autos.”

Protests had been held outdoors the police station on Monday night time.
