MP cop suspended for lengthy hair, moustache reinstated- The New Indian Specific

BHOPAL: A Madhya Pradesh police constable who was positioned underneath suspension for retaining his hair and moustache lengthy in alleged violation of service guidelines for uniformed personnel was reinstated on Monday, with a senior official stating that the order to take him off obligation was not issued by a reliable authority.

Constable Rakesh Rana, posted as a driver within the police’s motor transport wing, was suspended, as per an order of Prashant Sharma, Assistant Inspector Normal, Cooperatives Fraud and Public Service Assure, for not obeying his senior official’s order to appropriate his look.

Sharma had instructed PTI on Sunday that Rane was adamant about retaining his moustache and hair lengthy, each of which weren’t in accordance with norms for uniformed personnel, on account of which the latter was suspended as a part of disciplinary motion.

Monday’s order issued by DIG (Personnel), MP police headquarters, acknowledged the suspension order was being revoked with quick impact because it was not issued by a reliable authority.

When requested on this regard earlier within the morning, MP Minister for Dwelling Narottam Mishra instructed reporters he had known as the officers and constable concerned within the matter.

Rana, who was posted as driver of Particular Director Normal, Cooperatives Fraud and Public Service Assure part of the Madhya Pradesh police, had earlier instructed reporters he would proceed to sport an extended moustache because it was a matter of “self-respect”.
