BGMI bans AGAIN! Krafton takes action over 66000 player accounts, Know why

BGMI bans again: The publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India or BGMI, Krafton, has banned more than 66,000 accounts between March 28 and April 3. Find out why these accounts were banned.

BGMI ban: Krafton, publisher of popular online multiplayer battle royale games like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), announced banning of 66,233 accounts on Tuesday, April 2, 2022. According to the company, the bans are permanent in nature and the blocked accounts will not be allowed back on the platform. Krafton banned the accounts from BGMI between March 28 and April 3rd. One of the major reasons for the ban was unauthorized usage of third-party programs to gain unfair advantage in the game.

Announcing the bans, Krafton said, “Battlegrounds Mobile India will strive to implement strong sanctions with the ultimate goal of eradicating the use of illegal programs in order to provide you a pleasant gaming environment”. Highlighting the need to preserve fairness in the competitive online gaming space, Krafton also highlighted the need to protect players from such cheaters. The company also shared the full list of banned accounts. You can check the list here.

Krafton bans 66,233 accounts from BGMI

Krafton has been committed to the idea of fair gaming and has taken similar measures in the past to reduce instances of cheating. Before this, the BGMI publisher issued permanent bans to 22,013 accounts from March 21 to March 27. Prior to that, the company banned 7,057 accounts between the period of March 14 to March 20. BGMI bans have become a necessary tool for the company to exercise fair play in the game.

However, the largest expedition against cheaters was taken by Krafton in January. Between the period of January 24 and February 6, the company permanently banned a total of 171,188 from Battlegrounds Mobile India. So far, the company has banned a total of 5,69,420 accounts overall.

These BGMI bans are given out as a result of either reports received by other players or the game developers noticing malicious behavior from the player. Often, some players would install third-party programs to gain unfair abilities like infinite ammo, camouflage, speed and others. This would lead to the frustration of the players as they would face difficulties beating them. The bans are a welcome move by Krafton as many players have previously complained about the hackers and cheaters.
